Overwhelmed school

This writing is written because the demand from my fans.

This Saturday, I got Audit class in the late afternoon
So if you ask what I learn from audit class, I will answer Conducting the Audit. You won't know the term which is very technical. So, I just told about my lecturer. In one practice question, it is written "James is responsible for counting and approving the stock". So when discussion she said, "it is not James that you know. I know the James that you know can do everything".. then the class laughed. She referred to my MA (Management Accounting) and Financial Reporting (FR) lecturer, whose name is James Kxxx.... He is very famous as Accounting lecturer not only in SIM.
Actually, when attended Audit, MA, and FR class. There is always some joke to mock one another. Last time, James says "do not become the auditor, you will get enemy everywhere."

In Monday MA class, James tells about Total Quality Management (TQM, find out in google what is that). He related the TQM principal "do it right at the first time" with our exam. Is it important to do it right at the first time? If fail, we have to rework, reinspecting, and third time fail then need to Scrap it. Then when in our certificate written fail, we start blame external failure (lecturer, examiner, family, etc) not internal failure (yourself only 0,02 percent).

Before I forget what James says today for MA night class, so I should write it first. So he explains about Target Costing. Basically, it is the method where we set selling price first then the target cost. Then suddenly, he asks the class, how long do you sleep every day? Most of us says 8 HOURS!! He then calculate, 8 over 24 = 1/3 then expected normal people life is 60 years. Then 1/3 * 60 years = 20 years zzzz.. Then, he uses 6 hours of sleep, then there is 5 years differences, then what he says, 5 years you can take 1 degree and 1 master..

Related to target costing, then he asks us.. Then every day 24 hours, less 8 hours of sleep, 4 hours chatting (this is called non value added), 2 hours of eating, 2 hours of bath, 2 hours of watch TV (non value added), 2 hours of travelling, 3 hours lecture, etc.. Then he says, how much time you set aside for study excluding the lecture time?? Wah, I think I got shocked when he says this.
Then he reverse the planning, what should come first? STUDY! Hahaha.. So, 24 hours, 6 hours of study, reduce to zero for all non value added activities, 1 hour for eating, and bath. 2 hours of travelling. So left 14 hours, Wahh.. we see, there is a lot time when we put the priority of study first. hahaha...
This part actually makes me feel guilty :(
He reveals to the class how much he sleep everyday. He tells he rarely sleep more than 5 hours. If it happens, then it will be good. He just normally sleeps 3-4 hours/day. He currently pursuing two doctorates program, making two thesis with a 180,000 words in total...

I just wondering is it the education so important for him? I mean I think there are still much more part of life that should be equally as important as education...
Can you help answer this part? your comment is appreciated.

Emmaus the journey continues.

Last weekend until today (which is Tuesday, 8 Dec) is an overwhelming week.
Starting on Saturday, I have afternoon Auditing class (3.30 until 6.30) which is quite unusual. Moreover, canteen in SIM and Ngee Ann is only half day open (until 2PM). That mean, I did not have my lunch before class (I just ate bread and jam). Haha..

Then, because I had nothing to do after class. I decide to join the Emmaus (again!). I actually also wanted to share my experience during my retreat last week. The topic was Suffering & Joy brought by brother Phillips. This was also the last week for two of DMS girls who will continue to UOL program (congratz, you will experience coming to school on Sunday!).. haha.. The meeting was ended quite late, 11PM? I forget. Then I felt, very very tired, I slept no more after 12.30AM, because I realize tomorrow I had to church for choir at 9AM.. @.@

Sunday morning, as usual, I woke up to get ready for the church (I was thinking about the empty room at my flat). Today, my friend did not show up for the mass, because her parents was around. Then, I remembered my friend who I mentioned above, also attended 9 AM mass, so actually they saw me when I was singing. Haha.. I text one of them. She said, she was in the bookstore to buy some merchandise to be brought back to Indo.
Then, after she left, I met Keenan (director of young and young adult office of my church), then actually I asked about the role of sponsor in RCIA. He explained in quite very depth role of the sponsor.

The interesting part is not from here, so when I asked, what are you doing now? Then he said, he helped to manage the Knight (Altar Server). So he told me currently he and Brother Derrick are managed the Server, then actually they have shortage of experience person. Then actually, why? is there any problem in this ministry? Actually, at this time, I was very curious what happened? I thought they are doing OK in the Altar. Then he told more about the knight, actually I thought that I had same problem as I was in Altar Server in Indonesia. I asked him, if something that I might help. He answered that, they were prayed for someone who can help them in this ministry, who had the experience, when we met at Oka Maya weeding, I shared some of my experience with him in the Altar Ministry.
Then finally before I left to continue choir practice, I left my contact to Keenan. Maybe I should write an email, what I had through during my service in Altar Ministry in Jakarta..
Opportunity is coming again...!!!

Spiritual Outbound 27-29 Nov (DAY 2)

Continuation from part one.

So today, we start the day with morning prayer and worship & praise at the Grotto. Btw, today we are all using the red T-shirt given. It is written "Spiritual Outbound 2009, The Journey". I like the red color, very blood.. hahaha.. come back to morning, again our Romo dance like no one see him.. haha...
After that, we have our breakfast to start our outbound, today's menu is quiet nice, fried kweetiao and bread available if we want. also have tea and coffee. hmm, quite good start for starting the journey. lol..
Actually starting now, we have took photo.. hahaha..

Then, we start the real outbound! So first, every 22 minutes, there is a clue for bonus challenge.
We are given a clue which show a location where we must go. The location is taken from the journey of Israeli people out of Egypt. And I remember our first location is Egypt!! At this point, one must be a Moses (leader), while the others closed their eyes, and Moses must guide them out of the road block, without touching the plastic rope. Being the first one, and the facilitator is the first try to be the Moses, it is quite difficult to get all of us out from the first block. Then, I decide to be the Moses, then I realize it is not easy also to be the Moses.
Some of them are still afraid about touching the rope and need to redo again. Oh ya, the weather is quite HOT, no, it is not quite HOT, but VERY HOT!! Then, I can handle 2 blocks at the time, where they actually already need to lift up their legs and squad down also.. haha.. then after that, I a lil bit confuse what they should do, should they jump or squad down.. because they put really in between of jump or squad.. hahaha.. finally i decide they must jump, but only 2 persons able to get it right and the time is over.. =="

Then the second location, we go to Dead Sea. this challenge, out of 8 challenges, is the most unique games. So when we arrive, no other team is there, we do not know what will happen. We know that it will be related with water and wet. Then the gamemaster explains the rules. We must hold a pale of water with leg. Then, I start to wonder how to hold ya? Then the rules is not finished yet! Then, while we are holding the pale with full of water with leg, we must deliver a plastic rope across our hands and across our t-shirt. Then I start to wonder, how to do ya?? Then game master says, OK all LAY DOWN! then i know, I must quite strong in my legs (coz my team consists only 2 boys and 6 girls!) and I can not really see what my neighbor do.. hahaha.. and we must deliver the rope 2 rounds! =,= and before we can put the pale down, we must lift it down and up and down again then we can be free.. zzz.. what a very good idea in this game.. hahaha..

Next, the next game which I like also, is to find candy (as if it is manna). Gamemaster gives the exact location in the map, then we must find it. Then we discuss, and some of my friend is having hard time to find it. Then when it comes my turn I find one. (I can only get one at the time). Then for the second time, I get it where my friend can not find (I say to them, this game must have great attention to details). Actually I get two out of eight that is given. Then when the game finish, I can find the candy which my friends can't find and actually this game actually needs the good angle of view so that we can find the candy.. So then, actually half of the candy I can find by myself.. hahaha..

Huff, three out of eight games I tell already. This one is the fourth games which is interesting. So, eight of us must make a circle facing outward and lock (not hold) our hands together. So it must squeeze, then follow what the game master tell. Then, the game master tells us to rotate, walk 6 steps to the right and left. It is still a lil bit normal, then for the higher point, we must squad down and go a some distance! Then, we all wondering, how ya, if squad down, we sure die coz of broken leg. hahaha. Then, I say can we just sit and move our backs? GM says CAN. so we move with also a lil bit hardwork.. hahaha.. but we can manage to do it.

Remember, the bonus challenge? Actually we must make (I do not know how to say in English =="), so when we combine the clue, the sentence is "dua loh batu didalam tabut perjanjian dan terbuat dari bahan alam". Then I think our team makes the simplest one. Hahaha..
But, we come as one of the best reflection of the outbound.. (feel proud a lil bit =))

Then, I will tell this part generally (coz I have BBQ part.. =)). Then after the outbound, we have some time to have lunch (now, all the food is finished faster.. hahaha) and take a shower.. After we take a shower, we have confession. One of the father was in St Mary (Fr. Jivan) so I have some time for confession with him and have some chit chat.. hehehe..

for night, we have our fellowship and BBQ time! So we are already in the Promised Land. We sing, dance under the star. We have api unggun (like boyscout).. hahaha. and when the dinner comes, it is BBQ time! Actually, we do not grill, the staff from the retreat house do it. Anyway, we have sausage, chicken wing, beef, burger beef, wow.. So many, plus orange juice, sweet corn, fried rice, banana, etc.. hahahaha.. I make you hungry now.. =p.. Waw, so complete and we dine under the star with limited light of lamp. hahaha..
Then we realize one thing, we have not prepare for our drama tomorrow.. So, we finish our dinner at 9.30PM then rush back to finish our drama. So, our drama is about baby Moses who is thrown by his mother, and the early stage of Moses before he is sent by God.
Then our practice is ended about 11.00 PM. But, I see some of other group still finishing. I decide to back to room to have some rest. hahaha..

Cont to part 3...

Spiritual Outbound 27-29 Nov (DAY 1)

Hi.. long time never post a blog. Because of my last retreat in Johor, I decide to re-start writing a blog. So last long weekend, when there is Hari Raya Haji, 27 November. I decided to go retreat with KKIHS (Karismatik Katolik Indonesia Holy Spirit or Charismatic Catholic Indonesia Holy Spirit). Actually, I do not really want to go, but may be because the encouragement of my brother and the word Outbound so I decided to go.. hahaha..

So the theme of the retreat is taken from Ezekiel 36:28 "You shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and you shall be My people and I will be your GOD." This retreat (or they said a journey) focus on the journey of Israeli going out from Mesir, and Moses is our focus.
On Friday, we meet up at Newton Circus at 8.30 AM. Then the bus leave at 9 AM. It takes about more than 3 HOURS to go to Johor! Actually, there is a long queue on the Malaysia Immigration, so that's why it takes a very long time to go there. We stay at MAJODI Centre, it is shorten from Malaka Johor Diocese Center. The spiritual director comes from Indonesian, Father Yohanes Lulus Widodo, we call him "Romo Lulus".

After we have some rest, lunch after long journey from Singapore, we have ice breaking session. And in this session, we know that Romo Lulus can DANCE! Afterthat, we make a group cheers and flag for outing session tomorrow. Then we have opening mass with Rm Lulus. He makes his homily very fun and one more thing that we know from Romo that he can play MAGIC! He brings the homily using his turtle, spider, eyeglasses, bird, etc. So FUN.. haha..

So the first session is started, Romo brings the session. He mentions there are 4 types of people, first he can not do it and he does not want to do, Second he can not and but wants to do. Third, he can do it but he does not want to do it. FOURTH, which is the best, HE CAN DO IT AND HE WANTS TO DO IT. He says, maybe now (during session) we can not see the four types of people, we will see tomorrow when we have our outbound session, some will say the weather is hot, tired, etc..

After that, we have our dinner. Oh ya talking about food, our special menu for lunch is FISH with Curry flavor. So you can imagine as if you eat fish with prata. lol. Dinner is better because we have soup, fish (again but not Curry flavor), veggie, and fruits. In this dinner, I start to know each other and actually most of them are working people. So I may get networking from them.. =)

Afterward, we have adoration time. This is when we remember in our Holy Communion and our God Redeemer. Actually the room is very cold, and I decide to bring my jacket. Suddenly, I know that the girl besides me feel very cold because she is directly below the AirCon so I decide to give up my jacket. Haha.. I do not know is it the good news or bad news if she read this. lol.
Then it finishes at 10.30 PM. Quite early, I think (because usually I sleep at more than 12 AM in Singapore) but I decide to take bath and going to pray at Grotto. until 11.30 PM then I sleep after that.. hahaha.

Continue on the NEXT POST for day 2..
