Love Your God, Neighbor as Yourself

I just arrived from church. (I write this blog at Sunday, 26 Oct 08).. Usually, there is nothing special about the reading. But today, I think God gives a notice to me through today's Gospel. The Gospel is taken from Matt 22:34-40. What really strikes me is this gospel is really really match with my problem right now..

In the Gospel it is said..

37	And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.
38	This is the great and first commandment.
39	And a second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

What strikes me because I now have a feeling with some1. Then when homily, the priest tells that if you love the Lord your God but you don't love your neighbor & yourself, it means you love some1 in 2-D which can't be touched or felt. If you love your neighbor but you don't love the Lord, it means you love some1 in 3-D who can be touched or felt but you lost the most important things in your lives that is Lord your God.
The priest says.. Love the Lord your God, your neighbor and yourself with whole heart not half-half... During this month, I feel I just further from God, and focusing with only my neighbor (read: my friends). My feeling also still half-half with my neighbor meaning that I am not ready to love with whole heart..

An Evening Night With A Forgotten Friend

Wah, a long time no writing blog.. Now, it is Saturday, finally in the last 4 weeks, this is my first Saturday that I dont have any lecture (esp PBF..).
Yesterday, it was a memorable night. I met one of my friend from Surabaya. Her name is Evy. I met her first time in Super Teen Camp Dec 2005 (it was still in Puncak). So here is the story..

In the camp, I was the resource of her group. First time I met her, she was so beautiful and she was a nice person. I was quite often talk with her during the camp. After the camp, we exchanged our phone no.. Unfortunately, she came from Surabaya, so it was hard if I want met her again. Hahaha..
Then, I think 2006 and 2007 I lost contact with her. One day in early 2008, I was looked all my friends list in FS & I found her profile. I left her a comment, and she replied it. I got also her MSN, when she OL, she said that she would be in Jakarta to work in June afterwards.. So, I should met her in Jakarta since I was in Jakarta for my holiday.. But!!! I didn't make it, maybe I was too busy with my internship and she also busy with her work. I asked her to join ST camp, she also could not join..
Then, once in a time, I chatted with her, she said she will be in Singapore after long vacation in another continent.. So, I left her my contact no in Singapore. I was not thinking about she would call me when she was in Singapore. =p

So yesterday (friday), I had POA lecture in the morning. I remembered it was around 11 AM. An unknown number kept calling my phone. I cant take up the phone, but because it kept vibrating, i took up the phone. First what she said is, "Hi, ni hao?" (--") so I thought she is pure Chinese who cant speak English.. Haha. Immideatly I hang up the phone. But, she kept calling me, and I didnt take up the phone. Finally, she msg me introduce that it was me (Evy) who called you.. --" After lecture, I called her, this time she didnt take up my phone.. Then, she called me, this time I took up the phone.. Haha.. We make an appointment to meet in Orchard as she stays in Orchard so it is easy to find..
She said she waited me at her hotel, so I just go to her hotel. I rushed! Because, I was late. Traffic was not friendly yesterday. The bus driver is also slowly driver.. T.T"

When I want to enter the hotel lobby, I met her at the street. She was going to Taka. So, I joint her. It was quite weird as we had long time no see.. But, I try to be calm and keep the flow. haha.. We share a lot of story. Started with her vacation, my study, until recession.. =p
After that, she asked me to join with her family for dinner. They planned to go to Geylang. She said there is a turtle soup restaurant there (really, I never go to Geylang and know about turtle soup restaurant.. Haha..) it took about, 20-30 mins to reach there by taxi.. But, when we reach there, the restaurant is closed!!! --" So we come back to Orchard, then we eat at Isetan. They are very nice family, and friendly. They shared a lot to me and I shared about my studies and my future carrer.
Finally, the time was 10 PM. They are still tired (they have jet lag), so I bring them to their hotel to rest.. Haha.. I leave her with a book, titled "A Gift From A Friend by Merry Riana" and a Koala from Sydney.. It just like Indonesia movie titled, "3 hari untuk selamanya" (3 Days for forever) this one "3 hours for forever."

Today I learn old friend can bring a warmness that different from my friends. Tomorrow I make a difference..

Thank You For The Wishes and Pray

Actually, just want to thank you to all of you who make this year's birthday is so hard to be forgotten. Hehe..
The day before my bday, I went to church and some of choir members had given me a congrats to my b-day that actually comes tomorrow. Then, afternoon I went to Orchard with my friends and continued to Bugis, to meet my bro and his girl. They treat me, as if I had my birthday on that day. It was because they maybe very busy on the weekdays.. They gave me a T-shirt and posted notes, which has some words, "Be on your guard, stand firm in the faith. Be men of courage, be strong. 1 Corithians 16:13)". This one, actually very tiring and should come to school in the morning.. Zzz...

When come the day of my bday, I had class in the morning. Some of them had greet me in the class. The class was very very boring. I also dont understand what my lecturer said. Went out from the class, my friends was waiting for me already!! They brought Birthday cakes for me but without fire to light on the candles. --a

I waited them because they had class in the afternoon. I waited them until 3 PM. In that time, I just went around, chatting, browsing, etc..

After they finished, I went to canteen with them. We played card, ate the remaining cakes & did nothing to end the day.. Haha.. Until, everything is finished by an angry uncle that forbid us to play card.. zZzzZzz..

Actually, I didnt expect of this kind of event, I am thinking about Birthday means Time that is given from God is reduced one year more, did I wasting that time or INVESTING it?? But anyway, thank you for all of you. Thanks for my bro, Iwan and his girlfriend Elaine. Aan, Erna, Fandy, Flo, Vaness, Olga, Carrie, and Spore friends who gave me surprise little party, and everyone who gives me pray, wishes, greetings thourgh Email, SMS, Friendster, Facebook, etc.

First Day of 2nd Year

Continuing from previous story.
15 September has gone with a lot of story from Singapore and first day back to campus.
Quite interesting about this 1st day so I would like to tell the story..

Hmm.. 1st day is always late. Yes, my 1st class for Monday is Management Science Method (MSM). It started 8.30 AM, I woke up at about 7.30.. Take shower, get some milk and I left home at about 8.00 AM. The bus came at 8.15.. So I arrived at school about 8.45.. Late 15 mins..
When I entered the class, OMG! I notice most of them are Singaporean (it is not like before that most of the students are Indo!). I know only some of my friends about 4 people. The others I do not know. Maybe they are 3rd student.. Oh ya my lecturer's name is David Quek (he is not one of trio kwek2 yah.. =p)..
I think this subject is similar with statistics. Some introduction and essay were tought at the first lecture. But after that more calculation are given. Yah 3 hours of lecture is quite boring, moreover it is theory based.. Hahaha.. Oh ya, my lecture note for MSM is about 10 cm thick!! Imagine by yourself yah.. hahaha..

After lecture, I had lunch at campus. I met some of my friends.. Yah, long time no see, some are changed. I mean he looks fatter, or taller. Some I dont recognized him at first. Yah we had some joke, after long time no see and share about our holiday.. Maybe only me who get internship for holiday.. hahaha..

One of my friend still has his bad habbit. haha. Sleep at 6 AM in the morning. I think last night, he played Dota until morning. Then when I came to his flat, he still slept (it's 3 PM).. It was quite embarassing. hahaha.. My first purpose to come to his flat was waiting for Aan finishing his class. I and Gogok wants to go to his house to see a new comer. haha..
But at 4 PM. Aan called me, that all of them will go to Holland Vi, Gogok wanted to go if the new comer joint.. Finally, he joint with me and Aan and the others.. We were sharing, gigling, etc during that time..

Until about 7PM, we went to Cold Storage and bought some food. I and Gogok decided to go to Aan's house. Unfortunately, we could not see the new comer. T.T" So, we just talking, joking with Erna also. Quite fun, everything was gone out. And we had a very good time. Though some time, I did not understand what they talked about because of languange barrier (they talked sometime in Sundanese.. Hahaha)..

I reached home finally at 9 PM.. Quite tired, but fun everytime..

Today I learn to have fun with others and share what I feel for the last 3 months. Tomorrow I make a difference..

15 September is coming to town

Yeah, it means that I will go back to Singapore and continue my study at SIM. It is already more than 3 months holiday! I hope I wont regret what I have done in the past 3 months.

2 big events during holiday are trip to Sydney for Journey of Faith WYD 2008 and internship in my uncle's company.

I will tell my story during my internship, is that OK? You can't answer no, because the author is me. Hahahaha..

Before I go to Sydney, I have 2 weeks of internship and 1 week of Super Teen camp. During this 2 weeks, I work as administration staff (this is what they write in my recommedation letter.. Haha). Oh ya, my company is called PT Ditek Jaya. It is a distributor for laboratory equipment and research from Shidmadzu Japan.

My job actually quite simple. I must control goods that come in and come out. I can check it from Delivery Notes, Retur Notes, Material Request, Sales Order, etc.. I think during this period of time, my duty is not very heavy. During this 2 weeks, from 10 hours of working, my effective time maybe only 4-6 hours and the rest is just chatting (it's still holiday period), browsing, etc.. So sometimes I am very boring because instead working and doing nothing I can entertain myself by playing DOTA in warnet, rite?? But last day of working, my uncle gives me some "angpao" for this 2 weeks. haha

After go back from Sydney, I take a rest for 1-2 weeks then I go back to PT Ditek for continuing internship (my parents scold me because I do nothing at home). I say to my uncle, "can i move to marketing? I am very bored as admin staff very few that I can learn", He says "you need to study the equipment first, before you can sell this!". I am working for 4 weeks. Good news come when I arrive at the office. My supervisor says "you move to level 5, so you can directly learn the equipment." For your information, admin office is located at level 3, warehouse is located at level 5. Guess what, it worse than before. 10 hours of working, 9 hours of playing, chatting, and kaskus. I play tkatki.net until lv 20. after that, I stuck.. >,<

Second weeks, my uncle goes to Australia & my supervisor goes to Surabaya. I know my uncle goes but I dont know my supervisor goes to Sby. I know it after I go to lv 3 just to say Happy Bday to Bu Maria. Knowing my supervisor goes to Sby, so I ask my senior from admin, is there anything that I can help, he says Many!!! So, after ask permission from my senior at lv 5, I come back to lvl 3. I help for recap things and updating "stock program". Because today is Bu Maria's bday, she treats all level 3 and 5 staffs for lunch at Ta Wan Citraland. At 2 PM, I arrive back at office. My friends ask me to join them watching Batman at Senayan. Still because I have nothing to do, my supervisor is going to Sby, so I say YES! Please pick me up at Kedoya. 2.30 PM they pick me up.. It quite makes some of my friends jealous. hahaha.. So I watch 3.15 PM Batman.

Next day, I become wilder. Waiting for nothing. I have nothing to do. Until 12 PM (lunch break time). Still I dont have nothing to do. So I RUN AWAY!! Since the office is quite empty. Hahahaha, actually I very scare to run away. But, doing nothing makes me crazy you know. As usuall, my hobby is playing dota so I go to warnet again.. (Please, anybody who are doing internship you cant do this!!).

Next day, my supervisor comes back so I go back to lvl 5. Friday, I come back to lvl 3, I say to my supervisor, "Sir, can i go back to here? There is no much space left at warehouse, and I have nothing to do there." He says, "actually you should move already to Sales division." Then he talks to sales manager, Sales Manager says OK! So Next week I work as Sales Staff. Oh ya, today my laptop get Spyware!! Gosh...!!!! Damn it.!! I must reformat it.!!

Third week of working, I move to Sales division or Marketing division. What I dont expect is when I go to my senior at Sales division. He already prepares me a bulky tasks to do. He asks me to change the Master Quotation. So, the old one is still using the 4 digits account no. I need to change to the new one that uses 7 digits for account no.. I am using my supervisor laptop as mine is out of service!! I thought it was very simple. But I very many many many Quotation to be changed!!! It takes 3 days to finish it.. So, there is so much to do at sales. hahaha.. I thanks for that! Next two days, I help my senior check the Sales Order to be moved from email to folder and recap it. It takes 2 days and more a lil bit..

A lil bit , it means the Monday of the 4th week. I get news that my senior wont come today, he is sick (it is the first day of fasting). I take his table to finishing recap then I help another sales person to make "surat dukungan" (it is a kind of statement letter). 2 days sitting at his table makes me famous as 2nd Andre (my senior).. Hahaha. When he comes on the 3rd day, he gives me more works to do with "surat dukungan". On that day, I need to make 10 "surat dukungan". The problem is there are many many many attachment to be given for every letter. The attachment at least 25 pages for one equipment, if two equipments it will be more attachments.

Thursday morning, he gives 23 tenders to be made statement letters!! Every tenders is two equipments!! At first, I quite OK, but when he tells the attachments for every tender is very very much. 2 days to finish this, and many praise and mock are heard from this. From my supervisor, "When you are at admin, you are never very active like this." From admin staff, "Just bring the printer to your table." (Oh ya, from my laptop I cant print to sales' printer so i need printing at admin). From Bu Maria, "You keep give me a bulky items to be signed." "Alfons, are you duet with Andre? After I finish sign yours, Andre's work is coming, and it keeps coming." It happens for two days. Though tired, but I really thankful for this. At the end, I do one box of paper for this 2 days working. Bu Maria do one box of signing.. I think I can also work at photocopy center. Hahaha..

Fifth week, or last week. I learn the flow of Sales Order to be made. From Purchase Order from outside. I process it to check the price and ask for sign. Sent it back, scan it, and then finally make it Sales Order. Oh ya, I help to write specifications of equipments in excel mode. So I learn something from this. Maybe next year, I can go around for presentation.. Hahaha..

Today I learn how to talk with people especially supervisor and senior, and I learn to work as a staff in a new company.

What is common between them? They both have the same information about dollar. What is the difference between them? Creativity of using the information.
Mr. James knew the information but he didnt take action. His friend used the information to buy $$ and sell it back..

Change to Succeed; Succeed to Change

A seminar held to help leper. All fund that collected from this seminar is given to the leper. The speaker of this seminar is Mr. James Gwee (Director of Academia & Training).
This seminar titled "Change to Succeed; Succeed to Change. Ideas to help you anticipate change and how to implement it." As usual, Indonesians people always late (ngaret). And this seminar, from the brochure, should be started at 12.. But, it started at 1 PM.. A videos was shown to show us the profile about Mr. James. After that, Mr James came out to the stage with very energetic (though not as energetic as Mr. Tung)..

My first task was to make 5 hand sign.. It was simple at first, before Mr James told me to do it using opposite hand (left hand)!! Though at first it was hard, but i manage to finish it. What I learn from this is CHANGE! After the task, he explained there are two kind of people from this task. First type is people who are WILLING to change, they are very happy with these change. Second type is people who are FORCED to change, these people are angry, flaunt, easily get sick.

If our action is A so the result is A.. If we want B (B is better than A) as a result, we MUST take action of B. B at first is uncomfortable, unpleasant, awkward, but as we go thorough this process we will enjoy this process. So, NEVER NEVER dream about B if we still have action of A.. What we want always be outside our comfortable area..
What are our barriers to change?
1. MENTAL BARRIER
from story above, opposite hand signed, some people may say, "Ah this is impossible!", "It can't be done", and other sigh..
2. PHYSICAL BARRIER
some people may find it's hard using left hand, or using eye glasses, etc, etc

GET OUT FROM YOUR COMFORT ZONE NOW!!

If you take same ACTION everyday, you will always get the same RESULTS.

If you want different RESULTS, you must CHANGE your ACTION!

Mr James gave me a comparison between General Motors and Microsoft.
GM has Sales in 1996 for U$ 168 billion, whereas Microsoft only has U$ 9 billion.
GM's asset in 1996 is U$ 222 billion, whereas Microsoft has only U$ 10 billion

BUT,
Microsoft's Market Value is U$ 120 billion, whereas GM's market value is only U$50 billion!

what happened with GM? They have 22x bigger asset than Microsoft, but their market value is half less than Microsoft's???
Mr James explained what now have changed. We are now living in A WHOLE NEW WORLD!!
Before 1750, it was Farming Period. Land is number 1. You have land, so you have money. That's why in this era they called someone who has land is LANDLORD. Woahh, LORD man..!! If you had Land, so you are LORD.. That's why some European states expanded their territory in Asia, Africa, South America.
He explained more, between 1750-2000, it was Industrial Period. It began with Industrial revolution. After James Watt found steam engine, the production system became more productive. Hence, land was not the most important anymore. The most important was capital, machines, and buildings!! In this period, you worked hard and you were paid good enough..

NOW! We are living in a new period. It is called Information Period. We are now living in a global village, where Knowledge, Information and Creativity are very important!! Why does the increase of fuel price affect the price of potato? Why does war in Iraq affect the rate of interest bank? Sometimes, it is not logic, but we are living in the world where everything is interlink!!
Old Paradigm says INFORMATION is Power. It happened because there was very very few people have TV and radio. Newspaper is also limited. In Indonesia, there was only one channel TV, TVRI. That's it. We did not have anything. If you had information, it mean that you were more powerful than other people.

How about now? New Paradigm says INFORMATION is PUBLIC Access. CREATIVE use of information is Power. SPEED is a Critical Success factor.
Mr James told about his story. He met his friend on Friday. His friend showed him dollar information from his mobile phone. James asked him, how do you know? He said "I get it from my mobile." Then James says, "you help me lah, set up my mobile also.." Then his friend set it up for James. James was very impressive, "ckck, it's cool man..!!"
Next Tuesday, James met his friend again. His friend says, "James, James. Today, I treat you lunch yaa. I just make money today." James shocked, "How you make money? tell me.." he told James, I got profit 40 million you know, from dollar. Last Friday, I bought dollar at cheaper price. Now the price is higher so I sold it!."
From this story, what is common from them? and what is the difference between them? Please answer my Q before you continue to the next part...


GOING NEXT PART.....

World Youth Day Sydney 14-20 July 2008. Part 3 of 3

Saturday 19th July. No more catechesis today, but I have what they called “Pilgrimage Walk”. There are 4 starting point to walk, they are from Olympic Stadium (29km), Caringbah Station (24km), Blessed Mary Mackillop Chapel (9km) and Central Station (3.5km). I take from Blessed Mary MacKillop Chapel. I cross the Sydney Bridge, and see the Darling Harbor, through Chinese street and 7 power stations of Holy Spirit (wisdom, understanding, knowledge, counsel, courage, piety, awe). It takes about 5 hours of walking including lunch break. I arrive at Southern Cross Precinct (Randwick Racecourse) at 5 PM. It is already very crowded and I get grass for tonight sleep. Hahaha.
The evening vigil starts at 7 PM together with His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI. After evening vigil (9.30 PM), I walk around to adoration room but it is very crowded. I decide to sleep first until 2 AM then go to adoration room until morning. But 1 AM, I waken up because of my friend beside me. He makes unpleasant noise. So I go to adoration room. When I walk, I see some people still have more energy until that time. They are still dancing, singing, and talking. Wow! I think if it is not for God’s grace, they won’t be able to do it!! I go to adoration room for adoration and confession. Until 3 AM, I still can wake up. Looking other pilgrims sleeping in the adoration room, I join with them for sleep (This is very bad!!). 1,5 hours later I am waken up by a sister who asks me to sleep in my place (Actually, this is once of a lifetime experience. Maybe, I won’t sleep together again with God in the same room in this world =p). I directly go to my place and still some people are dancing and singing (It is 4.30 AM). I very amazed with God’s grace!!

20th July 2008, Sunday! It is World Youth Day 2008
I sleep again and in the morning about 6.30 AM, I wake up. It is very cold (almost 3 degree Celsius). I brush my teeth, and then packed up my things as other people are coming for the final mass. Before the final mass, Pope comes in His Papal Mobile go around the area. He gives blessings to 11 lucky toddlers. The Final Mass starts at 10 AM. The Mass is very deeply touched as Pope himself celebrates the mass. Finally, Pope Homily says do not be afraid to invite Holy Spirit in our life. Before the final blessings, I still remember what Pope says when he announces the next WYD host city. He says, “We will meet again in World Youth Day 2011 at Madrid, Spain.” Spanish people suddenly cheer up!!! Finally, Pope gives final blessing and then it is the end of WYD SYD 2008. Although it is only 5 days events, WYD SYD 2008 is an unforgettable event!! There is so much joy, peace in this event. Like what the song says, “There is so much joy in the kingdom. There is so much peace in the kingdom.”

World Youth Day Sydney 14-20 July 2008. Part 2 of 3

Because my story quite long for WYD SYD event. I make it into 3 parts.
1st part is my story between 14-16 July
2nd part is my story between 17-18 July
3rd part is my story between 19-20 July and special thanks.

Thursday 17th July.. Same with yesterday; I have catechesis in the morning. The speaker is a bishop from Philippines. He is very interesting and entertaining. For the lunch, different from yesterday, I must make a group of six to take my lunch. Australian lunch is provided which are bread, tuna, cake, chips, oranges and chips.
After lunch, I immediately go to city (Baranggoro) for Papal Arrival. Arrived in Circular Quay, I walk from station to the site about 20-30 minutes. I feel I am an artist, some people want to High 5 with me (maybe because I bring Singapore flag). It is already crowded when I arrive. Some people want to move to different site but it is not permitted. I get right hand side from the altar. I can see the Pope directly, although His size only 4cm. Hahaha.. The good news is Papal Mobile goes to my site so I can take photo nearer.
In the evening, I and my friend go to Luna Park to watch musical theater Testigos (Spain), which means witness. The performer first tells ten people who have been a witness of Christ in their life. They are included Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta, Pope John Paul II, Cardinal Van Thuan, etc (I don’t remember >,<). After he tells the story, the dancers perform and sing a Spanish song contribute to each one of the witnesses.
Arrive at Fairfield about 11 PM. Auntie Aleli provides me Konge (or porridge) with meat balls. It tastes very very very very very niceee.. I think this is the BEST porridge that I ever had!! She should sell it in Singapore. =p

The next day of WYD, it is Friday 18th July. The same morning as yesterday, I have catechesis with the speaker is His Grace Archbishop of India. In the afternoon, I have Stations of the Cross in the city. It starts at 3 PM; I get at St Mary’s Cathedral. I arrive there about 2 PM. To enter the park of Cathedral, I have a strict security. I must leave my bag then like airport security. There is security screening and a police dog smells at me. Haha. He thinks I have bomb at my body. =p.. I arrive at the site, 4 minutes before the Pope comes out. Haha. I am so lucky. I take some photos of Him.
After dinner, I go to Baranggoro for a festival “Receive The Power Live!” featuring Matt Maher and Darlene Zschech (Hillsong). Some testimonies are told in this festival. One testimony comes from John Pridmore. He was a gangster in UK but now he becomes a witness of Christ and international speaker with his testimony. He also writes a book titled “From Gangland to the Promise Land”. I think I must read his book. Very inspiring one.. There is also a drama from CCR Australia about our life. World Youth Day Sydney 14-20 July 2008. Part 1 of 3

Because my story quite long for WYD SYD event. I make it into 3 parts.

I arrive in Sydney at 14th July actually. I stay in Parish of Lady of The Rosary in Fairfield. A Pilipino family hosted me in their house. It is 5 stars host family!! I will tell you why I say they are 5 stars. Hahaha..

When I arrive in the Parish, the Parishioner already prepared for us some welcoming pray and party. They provide so much much much food for us. From roasted chicken, lasagna, pasta, fried rice, pizza and even Indian food rice nun! They are very kind and warm welcomed to all pilgrims who stay in their information.
From information that I get, there are more Parishioners who want to be hosted family than the pilgrims! Because of this, the Parish priest split some pilgrims into smaller groups to make sure all Parishioners get pilgrims. Unfortunately, still some parishioners do not get pilgrims.

15th July!! In the morning, I go to CBD of Sydney. I arrive about 10 AM. Some of my groups go to vocation expo, but I decide to Indonesian Gathering to meet some of my friends. Hehehe… I meet 2 ST (read: Super Teen) graduates and some Indonesian pilgrims from Singapore and Australia (Most of them are studying). In the afternoon, I join the opening mass celebrated by His Grace Cardinal George Pell (Archbishop of Sydney). The mass finishes at 6 PM, still not so night. So I decide to go to Veneration of WYD Cross and Icon and have dinner in Hyde Park. Unfortunately, they don’t provide food in Hyde Park. So, I take the dinner at The Domain. Now the time is about 9 PM. The WYD Cross has not reach the Hyde Park (it is used for the opening mass). So I am going to St Mary’s Cathedral which is not far away. Luckily, it is closed at 10 PM so I have about half an hour to walk around.


16th July!! It is Wednesday. I have catechesis today in Parish of Lady of Mt Carmel. The Parishioners celebrate their feast day today. My lesson today is about receiving Holy Spirit, the speaker is a bishop from Australia. I forget his name. The worshiper is rexband (again!). I do some sharing with other pilgrims about what we want to ask from Holy Spirit. After mass, I have lunch with BBQ. If you imagine about grill steak, you are wrong. BBQ what I mean is sausage grill using bread with onion and tomato sauce. For me, it does not make me full.. Hahaha
I go to Hyde Park. Finally, WYD Cross and Icon arrive here. So, I get some time to venerate the cross. I find some interesting stuff; it is small wooden cross written “WYD SYD 08”. The most interesting of this stuff is that it is free!! Hahaha. I take about 40-50 pieces for goodies. =p
In the afternoon, I go to vocation expo (for others it is again!).I am so jealous with my brother; he takes photo with Pope!!
At night, I join the workshop by Christopher West titled “Theology of The Body, introduction about teaching God, Sex, and Marriage by John Paul II”
The workshop is very interesting. Though I am very tired, I can still wake up until the workshop end. Hahaha. I come back to home about 11.45 PM. It is very very tiring! But, my host family is very nice! Auntie Aleli provides me chicken soup that really nice.. :)

Youth Arise 10-13 July!

This is a festival which is held by Youth Arise International as one of pre-WYD events. It takes place in St Joseph Nudgee College in Brisbane.
For the last 5 nights, I stay in classroom with about 30 other people from Malaysia, Philippines, Australia, India and some other African states.

The festival starts in the afternoon with a session titled “Gathering of the Nations”. The speaker is Henry Cappello who is a president of Youth Arise International. After that, we are celebrating mass with the celebrant His Grace John Bathersby (Archbishop of Brisbane). At night, we have some night festival. For God, we are jumping, cheering as the worshippers, emmanuelworship and Matt Maher, sing praise and worship songs such as “Your Grace is Enough”, “Trading My Sorrows”, etc.

Second day, I have 2 Workshops that I must choose from several workshops. I choose “Visionary Leadership” by Shayne Bennett and “Equipped for Mission” by Robert Clarke. This first workshop is very inspiring for me as he says that to be a leader we must surrender ourselves to God for His guidance. Another workshop is about their sharing in service team.

Third day, I join with other pilgrims in the central Brisbane with program “The Heart of The City”. Before departure, I have a mass celebrated by Fr. Gino Henriques (he is from Singapore, yey!!). When I am in the city, I meet some pilgrims from Papua New Genueia, East Timor, some African states and all people from many states in the world. It is very exciting to meet them as one body of Christ, sharing one faith in Jesus.

Last day (13th July), Sunday. I join two workshops titled “The Young Catholic Church” and “University Outreach”. I inspire to be a founder of Catholic club in SIM after these two workshops. Just for your information, SIM does not have Catholic Club. For the last night festival, three performers in one stage together! (emmanuelworship, rexband, and Matt Maher).
Finally it is finished. Tomorrow 3 AM must wake up and will go to the Airport.
Fly to Sydney, Australia!!

4 Days in Singapore. Unexpected expenses

Beuh dah lama gak nulis blog. Jadi tertarik lagi nulis blog. hehehe
Sesuai dgn judul. 4 hari di Singapore ada bbrp pengeluaran besar yg tidak perlu.
Gw balik ke Singapore dalam rangka persiapan ke Brisbane dan Sydney (Youth Arise International and WORLD YOUTH DAY!!)..

Sampai di Changi gw naek taxi, sopirnya cerita apa gw kurang tau.. Trnyata, dia tuh minta nambah 5 dollar gara2 alesan yg gak jelas. Mustinya gw laporin ke LTA (Land Transport Authorities). Jadi gw bayar hampir 32 dollar. Brengseknya mah di puter2 ke utara singapore dlu gw ama tuh supir taxi.. Standarnya paling 25 dollar. T.T"

Nyampe rumah, house mate gw dodol. Udah jelas2 kamar gw gak gw kunci pas balik ke indo soalnya kuncinya di dalam kamar. Trus ama dy di kunci, dia gak ada kunci cadangan.. Terpaksa dgn saran dy gw panggil Locksmith bayar 60 dollar... OMG OMG OMG !!!!!! Mantan perampok sama aja jd perampok dgn cara lebih "halus".

Terus ini ada cerita lagi, gak terlalu di rampok. tapi gw belajar dari pengalaman yg akan gw ceritain skrg. "Kesan Banyak = Lebih Menarik". Kenapa gw kasih tambahan KESAN??
Gw ke Bugis Street. Pertama kali gw liat di Toko Org China, 3 dollar buat 6 keychain (pertama kali gw liat tuh kirain cm 5). Trus gw jalan agak ke dalam, yg jual tuh org Malay, dia tuh dgn lebih menarik penawarannya (Di tulis di papan gede2) "18 keychains for S$10".. nah gw bareng ama temen gw itu liat, wah ini lebih bagus penawarannya drpd yg di depan (Tk Org Cina). Yah uda gw beli aja S$10 dollar buat 3 Bungkus (1 bungkus @6 keychain). Trusnya di tawar buat S$ 15 buat 5 bungkus eh gak di kasih..
Balik ke Toko Org China stelah di liat baik2 ternyata 1 bungkus tuh 6 keychain!!! Trus di tawar, kan kalo 3 bungkus = S$ 9, 4 bungkus = S$10. Ternyata di kasihh.. aaaaaa....

Kejadian terakhir, ini gr2 masalah nama ( gw benci pisan dengn hal yg 1 ini). Iteniary tiket yg dikasih ke gw 2 bulan yg lalu tertulis nama gw "Alfons Iman" which is the right one. Terus napa tiba2 di tiket yg baru di kasih ato yg diterbitkan tuh nama gw "Alfons Iman Hardjasaputra"??? Gara2 mslh ini gw ke Paragon ke SQ officenya. Dia bilang kalo nama lu gak di ganti gw yg bermasalah ntar pas berangkat n nyampe di Ausea. Bisa2 berurusan ama embasssy Indo. Beh, gw gak mw urusan ama embassy kann? zzz. Trus akhirnya dy bisa ganti namanya tapi bayarnya booo.. S$ 75. zzzz. dengan terpaksa gw menggesek kartu NETS gw lagii.. aaaaaaaaaaa

Diitung2 selama 4 hari aja gw uda rugi S$ 140. Buat hal2 yg seharusnya gak perlu terjadi.. Singapore ternyata gak beda2 jauh ama Indo. Masih ada perampok yg ngerampok dgn cara halus.. wlpn gak ampe di bacok

SBS Transit vs SMRT

ternyata SBS Transit and SMRT beda yah pelayanan bus-nya...

Gw kemaren naek SBS no 52 dari SIM buat ke Jurong.
Pas naek sih gw gak nyadar apa2.. Tapi setelah 2 bus stop gitu kan ada yg turun gw ngedenger ada org yg teriak tapi itu gw nyadar apa2.. Trus next bus stop gw merhatiin lagi, ternyata sopirnya tuh dgn bantuan kaca spion ngeliat org yg bakal turun lewat pintu belakang and says "Thank you, bye!"
Gila gw merasa beda gitu, trnyata msh ada supir bus yg menikmati pekerjaannya. Trus gw merhatiin sepanjang perjalanan, org yang masuk bus di kasih ucapan "Welcome." and gw juga ngalamin dia nyetir bus-nya ati2 n gak sradak sruduk..

Beda pengalaman gw dgn naek no 178 bus SMRT. SETIAP gw naek ini bus, yang bus-nya masih bus jaman penjajahan jepang. Sopirnya jga gak ada yg bener. Mulai naekin temennya and gak bayar. Naek turunin penumpang gak pake otak. trus gw dah pencet bus stopping, malah mau di lewatin. AMPE paling parah NEROBOS LAMPU MERAH. OMG!!!

Room Tragedy (part 2 of 5)

16 Januari 2008 (malem)
gw inget kl di jurong east tmpt ngko gw ada tante2 org indo yg katanya uda 20 thn tinggal di sng nawarin tempat. n kebetulan gw msh nyimpen no tuh tante. Oh ya nama tante tuh pas gw liat di kartu namanya "Madam Chung" (tokoh baru later we called MC). Hehe. Latar belakang gw nelpon dia soalnya gw inget pas agustus dia mau nyewain kamarnya dgn harga 600-an.

So, jam 7-an gw telpon. Ngomongnya dia lg di luar & baterai hp dia uda mw abis. MC janji mw nelpon lagi jam 10-an pas uda nyampe rmh. Oke lah.. Jam 10-an gw tungguin, eh dia msh di luar. Jam 11 akhirnya dia nelpon.
Ngomong ama dy trnyata cukup aneh jga. Dia nanya mulai dr skrg gw tinggal dimana, ngko gw (tokoh baru, inisial I) yg di lt 13 kerja apa, dll, dll. yg paling2 mah MC ngasih tau kl disitu harga sewa 1 flat dah mncapai $4000/mth. Lah, gw mah cm pengen harga kamar murah sapa jga mw nyewa flat lu (dlm ati dah ngomong ky gitu gw.). Trus dia sih gak mw ngasih tau harga sewanya brapa. nyuruh gw ama R (who is R? baca kisah sblmnya) dateng.. Oke lah, after gw confirm ama R kpn mw dateng. gw janji besok jam 3-an gw dateng ke rmh lu. notabene gw dah tau tempatnya. Oh ya, pas di telpon dy ngsh tau kl gw dah mw nyampe gw d srh telpon dy spy bs siap2 gitu.. --"

After confirm kedatengan, gw crita ke R kalo gw pas agustus dah pernah liat kamarnya. and lumayan oke. gw jga ksh tau wlpn jauh tp ada direct bus dr situ. ya uda. gw gak crita harga pas agustus itu. haha.. n gw jga gk crita ke anehan dia yg tergila2 dgn MLM "Emway".

Besok tgl 17 Jan 2008
as usual, ni hari lecture IR (baca ai areh) gw dateng yah abis tea break gitu deh. haha.. intinya pagi2, hari gw berjalan sperti hr jumat biasanya.. siang bis lunch, gw ktmu R, gw ksh tau kl ke jurong naek 52. trs gw mw lgsg kesana dluan. secara gw bs nyetor koin2 gw yg berjumlah S$92.7 itu di Coin depositnya POSB & bs istirahat jga di tempat ko2 gw. haha.. pd saat itu waktu menunjukan pukul 12.11

Dgn segera gw meluncur lgsg ke jurong east naek 52. berhenti di interchangenya spy skalian renew EZ Link gw yg rusak scara tb2.. Pas nyampe wkt menunjkan pk 12.47 siang. bis itu gw ngantri bwt nyetor koin2 gw. tapi gr2 ngantri, ya uda gw k tmpt I dlu bwt ngelepas selotip koin gw. Soalnya koin gw sengaja gw selotipin 10-10 spy gampang di itung.. selotip disini trnyata lengket banget, jadi bis gw lepas selotipnya gw cuci tuh koin. haha..

Pas gw masukin ke mesinnya, justru yg terjadi koin gw ngejammed alias nyangkut. haha. trus gw masuk ke banknya ngsh tau deh.. & akhirnya dia ngsh tau koinnya jgn basah kl mw di masukin. haha..

back to kamar.
Jam 14.44. R nyampe jga di jurong. gw ajak dlu ke tmpt I. Yah buat sekedar istirahat dan melepas kepenatan setelah seharian kuliah. gw ksh liat iklan yg di clementi yg 4 menit jln kaki dr mrt (ini gw liat jga, crita ke3. di tunggu yaa..)
Jam 14.59 gw telpon si MC. gw bilang MC, 10 menit lg gw nyampe.
10 menit kmudian, gw naek k lt 24. gw salah flat. haha.. mstnya no 37 tp gw ngebell 35. sadar stlh ad yg nyebutin nama gw. trnyata si MC yg di no 37. .
After masuk, kita ngeliat kamarnya. baguss sih. hehe. kamar sebelahnya yg tinggal org meksiko. serem aje.. ntar dia jadi koboi.. huahaha...
stlh liat2 kite nih di ajak duduk. di tawarin minum, gw bilang gak usah. masih aja di ambilin. sambil ngambil MC ngoceh, "Ini air minum saya bagus, produknya Emway. sehat soalnya ini." trus gw bilang ke R, gw lupa ngsh tau ke lu kl MC trgila2 dgn Emway, jd jgn heran yah.. gw jga dalam hati who cares wit Emway, kentut..

Nah ini bagian yg seru nih, gw tnya brp hrgnya. trus dia tdk menjwb pertanyaan. MC ngomongnya, "disini sewa satu flat hrgnya uda 4000/bln, abang u gawat tuh ntar pas kontrak abis". so what? gw nanya sewa ni kamar brp???? eh nanya balik dy, brani brapa? goblog edan. itu kamar pny lu, koq gw yg ngasih harga.. finally, dia ngasih harga $900/sendiri/mth!!!! gak pake AC, gk blh masak!! trus blh ngapain dnk? edan gila.. ber2 aja gak msh mikir2 lagi. MC edan.
katanya kalo ber2, MC mau ngomong ama Mexican itu. takut WCnya gk cukup pas pagi. --" bilang aja gak mau ber2.. bis itu ngajak ngobrol2 lagi. kejadiannya ampir sama dgn org china di crita sebelumnya. tapi yg ini gw lmyn nyambung. . nanyain berkali-kali, berulang-ulang, gw brapa sodara, trus ko2 gw dah tinggal disitu brp lama, yg aneh mah ngapain dy nanya no telp gw yg di indo????????? krn gw brpikiran yg gk baek, gw kash aja no fax gw.. haha. tambah aneh, ngapain nanya no I? krn gw di ksh tau I jgn ngsh no dy sembarangna, gw ubah2 aja nomor dy. jadi si MC pny no I yg salah. hahaha..
Yg msh kepikiran ama gw mah skrg, dia nanya NAMA bonyok!!!! duh dunia ini memang aneh yahhh....
untungnya gw canggih, pas dy mw nunjukin pmandangan chinese garden dr flatnya dia. gw lgsg bilang mw pegi, alesannya sih ada mst ketemu org, pdhl pengen maen. haha..
stelah cabut dr situ, gw sumpah serapah tuh orang.!!!

Yang goblog edan lagi sih, jam 6-an.. pas gw lagi maen ama suneo dkk. gw di telpon lg ama dy. dan di tanyakanlah hal2 yg sama dgn yg td di omongin.. -------
saking kekinya, gw bilang "tante, aku lg ktmu org ntar telpon lg aja yah"
lgsg deh mati jga.. hahaha... Nice. Nice. ??

R sms ke nomor yg di ksh tau. afterthat gw ikut tutor aI aReh (baca IR. IR= international rlations).
Ikut tutor yg biasanya sante, tiba2 ni hari gr2 kehadiran 2 org bombai, one of them is penyusup, TKB marah2 gitu.
EDAN!! gw wlpn lecture IR cm stengah gk pernah liat dia semarah itu. Gelo sia! temen gw sih crita kronologinya dy bs marah2 gitu. gara2 bombai tuh.
Emang kl gw perhatiin tuh 2 bombai brengsek. tutor tnp 2 bombai itu biasanya lebih damai dan terkendali. Bombai A ngomongg aja spanjang tutor. Bombai B lebih gaul lagi, nerima telpon.. Mati muda iya kali.!!

malemnya gw chatt ama R. Dia bilang sbulan 700 dah trmsk air.. kalo mw liat kamarnya di atas jam 6 sore bisanya. And yg R contact itu org china cewe.
Ya uda gw bkn rencana hr kamis kita mau liat kamarnya stlh jam 6 tentunya..

Tutor math gw selese jam 3. nunggu mpe jam 6, gw maen dota di SIMnet. ahaha. trus bis maen, gw ke kantin bwt dinner lah. stlh itu R nelpon gw, dy nunggu di dpn library. gw samperin aja.. Nah, bis itu kita nyamperin org mw nyewain kamar. si org china (C) nunggu di ruang 1.10 kl gk salah.
Pas pertama ketemu, C lgsg ngasih selembar kertas. Isinya nomor bus yg lewat rumahnya. ada 3 bus yg ke SIM. trus ada ky nama bus stopnya "Sixth ave"... gw kira "wah deket dnk ini"
Oh ya just for ur info, org china bhs inggrisnya amburadul n gak jelas
bareng2 ama C & R gw ke lokasi naek bus 157 kl gak salah. Nyampe bus stop yg di ksh tau C, kita di tunjukin ke gedung di sebrang jalan. I dont know what she said. gw pikir "oh oke dsitu buildingnya"
tp ternyata C ngajak jalan ke belokan ke kiri dr bus stop situ. gw ama R dah pny firasat gk bener.
Jalan trus jalan sambil denger crita C yg notabene gw gak ngerti apa2 yg dia critain. Istilahnya gw iya2 aja dah. ahaha...
stlah 15-20 menit jalan akhirnya gw liat ada sejenis shopping center, tmpt parkir private bus gitu, n then "CONDO" yg dimaksud!
ternyata interpretasi dia dan gw beda ternyata. Condo buat dia adalah Hostel kecil tnp internet akses!
Itu ternyata Hostel!! Hostel yg kecil yg katanya sih banyak anak2 ngee ann Poly. gw uda mw pingsan ngeliatnya. apalagi C crita2 gak jelas n gk pntg yg ngebikin gw sedikit keki.
Telunjuk C ngsh tau ada tempat doa di situ. tapi gw coba ngikutin arah telunjuknya, tapi gak ngerti dimana tmpt doa yg dmksd. parakh lah..
Dy ngajak ke shopping centrenya. trus ngajak ke Giant jga. gelo tuh org mw ngajak gw masuk ke giant. kayak gak penting gitu.. Sapa peduli kl giant itu gede? dr namanya jga dah ketauan gede.
Intinya sih most of the time i dont understand. haha
stlh itu gw nunggu shuttle bus yg ke clementi mrt dr shopping cntre. C ngajak ngbrl yg agk gk penting. DE lebih susah lah drpd DMS trus macem2 lah. intinya mah cm bwt ngulur waktu. ahaha. trakhirnya gw ngomong "gw ntar omongin lagi ama R trus tanya jga ama bonyok, baru ntar gw ksh tau lagi 2-3 hr" wlpn gw tau gw pasti gk ngambil.. haha ...

akhirnya naek shuttle bus, di perjalanan gw brbagi kekesalan dgn R. C gak ngerti apa2 scara dy duduk di depan gw jga. ahaha..
gw berhenti di bus stop depan spy bs naek 77.

Haiyoo.. After it was taking so much time just for going to zoo, it is ended happily. haha..
Just for your information, I took almost 2 hours from school to home and final destination, Singapore Zoo!!

My bro sms me, u go to Ang Mo Kio MRT. I thought, AMK is only 5 MRT stations from my home so i go. In Bt batok station, I realized that AMK station is more than 10 MRT away!! and I had wrong perception. the 5 MRT Stations away should be Choa Chu Kang.

After I arrived in AMK, I think the problem is over. I thought the zoo is not so far from there. But, the zoo is very far! It takes 30-40 min by bus!

It is a nice zoo. It has many animals as its collection.
If u never see penguin, this is a good place. Sealion, Cheetah, White Tiger, Manatee, Polar Bear, etc can be seen in here. Once again, although it is a small zoo, the collection has covered all animals around the world.
Also the management of this zoo is very good as wedding or birthday can be held in here.

It seems I promote this zoo.. But this zoo is really really incredible! The ticket price is S$16.5 whereas children gets cheaper price.

Actually, I dont know that I disturbed my brother dates with some1. haha.. so if i knew it, I would not join. =p

Help mee..

In the just less than 5 months, I have to face what the world called "final exam". My lecturers already forced all of their student to review the materials. How to keep me motivated in this situation? I don't really even know about it. Moreover, I have to face the reality that my parents want me to search a new place for the next 5 months. walaweeee.....


Still I remember this quote that I got it from magazine.

Back to campus, when will I ready for exam?

Ready for final exam?? Actually, I am so afraid of final exam since I did not perform well in 1st & 2nd test week. Given a letter for registering exam, I have doubt that I will not pass the exam and I waste thousand dollar.. T.T" fail = 1 year more DE.

Stats and IR are subjects that actually I afraid off. Stats has many formula and my lecturer made my 1st n 2nd tests easy. IR, i have no idea with this subject. too abstract n should read n learn more.

Huh, I do not know lah, what's going next

Holiday ?

On 19th Dec until 1st Jan, I went back to Indonesia for vacation, after almost 4 months full of studying in Singapore (state with a fast life pace, huff..). It felt like in heaven after 2 hours of traveling when I arrived in Jakarta. I missed my bed room actually. haha..

I think this holiday was not enough because I just felt my bed room for 1 week. After Christmas, I went to Bali. Unfortunately, Bali was raining in first two days and I stayed in Nusa Dua where it has a nice beach. So, I cant play in the beach at all.
Overall, it was a nice trip to Bali. Sometimes and somehow, I felt not in mood to talk maybe because, contrary with my father, I did not like to visit historical places.
Luckily, I had some time to visit Joger, a "must" visit place when traveling to Bali, at least for me.

Back from Bali, I just had 2 nights to be spent in Jakarta. I planned to meet my friends from Superteen. But, I just can plan, God do it, my friends already had some plan with their family. So I met my playing friend twice. He was still the same. Haha..

New Year's night, I just went to mall to eat with family and watched movie in TransTV (Batman Begins and Troy). Last day in Jakarta (1st Jan), I spent some time to buy pants. Haha.
At night, I returned back to Singapore. Praise be to God, I got last train from Changi so that I did not pay an expensive fare of taxi. haha..
